On 11 September, a column of over 650 vehicles will set off from Novinsky Boulevard at 1 pm on a parade along the Garden Ring. After the parade, the most crucial utility vehicles lined up on Krasnaya Presnya Street for an open-air exhibition.
In addition to modern utility and emergency equipment, there were legendary “veterans” from times past. Around 30 retro vehicles participated in the show.
Over 30 retro cars took part in the parade. Citizens who came to the event enthusiastically welcomed them.
One of them is an AKZ-1 bus. Assembled in 1947, it borrowed much from the post-war ZIS-150 truck. There will also be an AL-17 fire escape ladder mounted on a GAZ-51 truck, which owes its existence to the construction boom of five-store blocks of flats, and other remarkable specimens, some more than half a century old.
Gray streets were painted with bright red fire fighting cars. They were accompanied by the motorcyclists.
Cargo vehicles occupied all the street space.
“The city utility services employ more than 600,000 people. They work all year round, day and night, to sustain normal life in the city. On 11 September, Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to see those fighters of the invisible front, who work each day to make our city better,” Mr Biryukov said.
